some description

UrWerk is derived from two words: Ur comes from the Sumerian city Ur and the German word Werk, meaning to work, evolve or create. URWERK was founded in 1997, by Felix and Thomas Baumgartner and their friend Martin Frei. Both Felix and his brother Thomas are watchmakers, and Martin Frei is the designer.

In 2007, Thomas Baumgartner left the company to pursue his own interest.
