Breitling
In a workshop located in St. Imier, Switzerland, a watchmaker named Leon Breitling, only 24 years old, started the Breitling Company. His expertise was in chronographs and precision counters, both for scientific and industrial purposes. The company would have to relocate to a larger location due to the demand for their timepieces, and so, they moved to La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
Gaston Breitling, the son of Leon, took over the helm in 1914 and started creating the first chronograph wristwatches, which he would supply pilots after WWI. Breitlings dedication to provide pilots quality timepieces leads them to become the official watch of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. The "Cosmonaute" is a sub model under the Navitimer model. It was named after the astronaut Scott Carpenter, upon completion of his space mission in which he wore a Breitling Navitimer.
Today Breitling headquarters can found in Grenchen, Switzerland. Many famous celebrities wear Breitling watches including Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and Wayne Gretzky to name a few.
