Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet began in Le Brassus, Switzerland in 1875 by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet. Audemars Piguet has a long history of creating many of the 'firsts' in watch movement. They created the first known minute repeater movement in 1892. They created the smallest five-minute repeater movement in 1915. In 1921, they created the first jump hour timepiece. The world's smallest movement for a wristwatch at 1.64mm came in 1946.
The stable mate of the Audemars Piguet collection has been its luxury sports watch, the Royal Oak. Designed by Gerald Genta in 1972, the Royal Oak Offshore's name hails from three of Britain's Royal Navy warships which sailed from 1802 to 1939. The Royal Oak's bezel is in the shape of a porthole, further showing its Navel influence.
