A.Lange & Sohne
Ferdinand Adolph Lange started Lange in 1845 in Glashutte, Germany. His sons, Emil and Richard, took over the company in 1875 after his death. The Lange company produced pocket watches and wrist watches for the German airforce in WWII. In 1945, following the bombing of their headquarters the company went out of business.
A new era began for Lange in 1990 when the great grandson of Adolph, named Walter Lange, along with the assistance of Swiss watch makers including IWC and Jaeger Le Coultre. Lange joined the Richemont group.
All Lange watches have either gold or platinum cases. The translation of A. Lange & Sohne is A. Lange & Sons.
